Hidden Beauty
Ultimately I wanted to explore the essential; to try to find hidden beauty, simple and pure forms but also peace, away from the vague and austere everyday life. Capture the twinkling fragments of a stone, rejoice the subtleties found in colors, start to create and work in all carefreeness before reason consumes inspiration and illusions. It is a kind of “close-up” to ordinary moments through color and beauty that fills me with enthusiasm in my work at the moment.
#Occupygezi
Our mellow houses, covered in traditional Ottoman fabrics made of velvet, silk or damask ornaments... Soft, quilted, fussy, oriental. Hugs we give to our kids on voluminous sofas', coated with colorful pillows, did not keep our youngests' from going out in the streets for a taste of liberty.
It all started a year from now. It had been almost 30 years since I had left my country, my house, and my parent’s tender love. Initially, a discord topic concerning an urban project and a certain gloominess against the prime minister. In Istanbul, the small park of Gezi is to be replaced by a shopping centre with an overweening architecture. Some demonstrators steadily occupy the park as well as the adjacent Taksim Square, symbol of the Republic, in a pacific attempt to condemn this project. The repression of the police quickly escalated and spread throughout the country.
The return home became evident to me.
Then followed the death of young souls. Seven deaths, and many injured…I dedicate the following work to Ali Ismail, Ethem, Abdullah, Hasan, Ahmet, Mehmet, and Berkin. Change began and will carry on for them.

Duality
In any voyage sleeps a duality; staying and living, old and new, home and somewhere...
Seasons
Following the change of seasons, which perpetuate around us, helps me resist the monotony of everyday life and appreciate the ephemeral moments
